The @clozetteco team asked me recently, ‘What do you love about being Singaporean?’
And I replied:
“Good and affordable delicacies are always a stone's throw away. And of course, we have Singlish, which consists of many languages including Chinese dialects, and the culture of addressing anyone older as Auntie or Uncle. Makes us feel so much closer, hor?”
Home is so much more than a place we live in. It also represents our memories, our loved ones, our culture and identity. All these local habits may seem trivial but they make us feel most at home. And this is my imperfectly perfect home, Singapore.
What about you? What do you love about being Singaporean?

Also a special shoutout to Yoku Moku for launching the Singapore Heritage Tin designed by local artist, Christopher Chew.
The design of the tin pays tribute to Yoku Moku’s journey to Singapore. It is more than just a cookie tin, it incorporates a Singapore rendition of Snakes and Ladders made up of traditional kuehs and iconic landmarks. Each tin comes with a matching set of wooden magnetic pawns and a dice so you can play the game with your parents or Ah Gong and Ah Ma this
National Day!
What better way to spend Singapore’s 53rd birthday? 🇸🇬
