Georgetown, 13 Mei - Seorang bayi perempuan dicampak dari tingkat 4 blok 8 flat Bukit Gedung di sini hari ini.
Kejadian kira-kira pukul 10.30 pagi itu disedari penghuni flat berkenaan selepas menemui bayi yang masih bertali pusat itu di pekarangan blok 8 terbabit.
Terdahulu, penduduk menghubungi pihak polis bagi memaklumkan kejadian sebelum melihat ada kesan darah pada bahagian belakang kepala.
Roda Pena difahamkan, seorang wanita bujang berusia 18 tahun yang bekerja sebagai pembantu kedai telah ditahan pihak polis bagi membantu siasatan.
Difahamkan, ketika kejadian ibu bapa suspek tiada di rumah dan pihak polis sudah mengenal pasti teman lelaki suspek berusia 18 tahun juga.
Siasatan lanjut juga mendapati, bayi berkenaan dibuang dari tingkap dapur flat blok berkenaan dengan ketinggian kira-kira lima meter.
Turut kelihatan kesan darah pada bahagian tingkap terbabit.
Bayi yang masih hidup itu dihantar ke Hospital Besar Pulau Pinang untuk rawatan susulan.
Ketua Polis Daerah Barat Daya, Superintendan AA Anbalagan mengesahkan kejadian terbabit dan kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 317 Kanun Keseksaan.
Katanya, suspek mengaku melahirkan anak berkenaan pada pukul 7 pagi sebelum membuangnya atas alasan panik susulan melahirkan anak tanpa pengetahuan keluarganya.
“Hanya suspek serta dua adik beradiknya berada di rumah ketika kejadian manakala ibu bapa mereka berada di Kelantan dan hasil siasatan dua beradik itu tidak sedar kejadian yang dilakukan suspek”, katanya dalam satu kenyataan media hari ini. - RODA PENA
