TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A group of volunteer mortuary cosmetologists is working around the clock to bring dignity to those who lost their lives in the deadly derailment that killed 50 in eastern Taiwan on Friday (April 2).

More than 100 members of the “76 Monks” have mobilized to reconstruct corpses in the aftermath of Taiwan's worst rail disaster in decades. Founded after the deadly plane crash in Penghu in 2014, the non-profit organization, which comprises morticians and people with related backgrounds, is dedicated to restoring the bodies of those killed in major accidents.

📌 在數十年來台灣最嚴重的鐵路災難之後，「76行者團隊」的100多名成員動員起來重建遺體。該非營利組織成立於2014年，是澎湖致命的飛機失事之後的組織。該組織由殯葬人員和具有相關背景的人員組成，致力於恢復在重大事故中喪生的人的屍體。

Friday’s train collision near Taroko Gorge in Hualien presents a challenge for these “repairers,” as many bodies retrieved from the mangled train carriages are badly damaged, some beyond recognition. “It's unbearable at the scene, families of the victims were crying so hard they fainted,” said Chen Hsiu-chiang (陳修將), one of those involved in the task.

Reconstructing deformed bodies requires great skill and materials such as cosmetics, prostheses, plaster, and artificial skin. As of Saturday (April 3), 10 bodies had been repaired, with the rest expected to be completed within a week, reported UDN.

The Budapest Bike Maffia is among Hungary’s fastest-growing charitable organisations; it was established at Christmas in 2011 by a small group of young cyclists.

Today, its key mission is the distribution of food and fundraising, focussing on helping those who are homeless and families in need. Each year, the BBM team – made up of over 100 volunteers – take to their bikes to distribute over 100,000 meals, in addition to operating 12 innovative charity projects.

These include Sweet Home, which sees volunteers working to create comfortable homes for local families living in council housing; the Seeds of Hope gardening project; and the BBM 50! initiative, which has the goal of increasing empathy and changing negative attitudes towards Budapest’s homeless population.

Tiểu Hương và tập thể trung tâm quyết tâm, yêu thương các con trẻ.. dù tất cả mọi nguồn kinh phí đểu tự thân vận động,tự túc,, đối với một người mẹ. để duy trì. nhưng càng khó bao nhiêu tiểu hương càng vượn lên, tiểu hương tin tưởng và xã hội không b ỏ mẹ con Tiểu Huong, chuẩn bị đến 17 năm thành lập Tiểu Hương cùng tập thể Trung tâm Quê Hương vô cùng biết ơn xã hội cộng đồng cùng các ban ngành đã luôn tạo mọi điều kiện cho Trung tâm, được hòa nhập xã hội.... hiện nay trung tâm đang cần sự hỗ trợ tiếp tục của xã hội, để phát triển, như cho các con được đến trường, quần áo thực phẩm... những chi phí hằng ngày giúp cho trẻ có cuộc sống tốt hơn... trân trọng và biết ơn.

In Vlog 235/3016, Azmi and I went to support the Alchemy Design Project headed by well renowned jeweller and Professor Sydney Scherr to raise funds to buy toolkits, which will be used in their sustainable jewellery making courses for survivors of human trafficking.

Sydney will be working with Tenaganita in her efforts to assist and empower women who have been human trafficked.

Special thank you to Drift and Dining Bar for partnering with Alchemy Design Project in this charity drive and the students and volunteers for donating their jewellery and time for this cause.

I am onboard with this initiative as I have young children of my own and human trafficking can happen to ANYONE, including my children.
