#TaiwaneseWhisky won big at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition 2020, with a special team of 13 tasters selecting Kavalan Whisky’s Solist Vinho Barrique single malt whisky for the Best of the Best prize, in competition with 127 other single malt whiskys!
Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry won the World Single Malt (No Age Statement) category and the Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation’s OMAR Cask Strength Peated Malt Whisky won the World Single Malt (12 years or less) category. Overall #Taiwan was awarded three superior gold prizes, ten gold prizes, eight silver prizes and one bronze prize, in a competition which saw 427 entries for the Western spirits section.
Kavalan was also awarded the Best Distillery of the Year in the competition!
