It was half past nine at night. I was on the final bus from Butterworth back home to Bukit Mertajam. I was 13, hungry and tired. After school, father would take me to the bus station behind BM plaza on his motorbike. I would then take a public bus from BM to Butterworth, before transiting to Bukit Dumbar in Penang Island. That was my routine, 3-4 hours traveling on the bus, just to train.
I looked at my watch, a Casio watch by my mum. Probably imitation goods but still told me the perfect time. 10 more minutes, I would get off the bus and hop onto my dad’s motorcycle. I told myself that I would just take 1 minute nap. I still had 9 minutes of buffer time. I was exhausted.
“Eh budak! Bangun! Dah last station! Kulim!” A shout woke me up. I jumped up off my seat, looked around the unfamiliar surroundings, I realized I missed my Bukit Mertajam stop. My Casio showed 10.15pm. I panicked and ran down the bus to find if there was any other bus heading for BM.
The bus driver stopped me for not paying full fare to Kulim. I told him I missed the stop and had no more money left, almost in tears. He just smiled, and asked me to wait in the bus, bus would route back to BM next couple of minutes. I told him that my dad will pay when I get to BM. He looked at me, and said “Hang buat letak something kat tangan I, pastu terus masok belakang bas. Janji hang main betol-betol badminton”.
In the bus back to BM, I was so anxious. Dad mom must be worried and angry. Finally at 11pm, I saw dad waiting at the bus stop. He carried my badminton bag, I hopped on his motorcycle.
Finally home, I told myself just go have a shower and sleep as mum and siblings were already sleeping. There should be no food left. Little did I know when I walked into the kitchen, a hot Milo and bowl of noodle soup was served. “Wei, ban ban ciak” with a smile, my mum told me to eat slowly in her Hokkien dialect. I teared. I can never forget that smile.
A warm poor home is always better than a cold quiet castle. Today is my mum’s birthday and I would never forget how she provided me the love and care in the past. Mom, happy birthday! Hope you like the food we prepared for you. Ma, ban ban ciak!

Hi-Tech Luggage from @ikii_official - my new travel companion ✈️ -
SWIPE LEFT TO BE AMAZED! -
😱
IKII 2.0 Smart Luggage totally surpassed my expectations!
HOW SMART IS THIS LUGGAGE?!
-
1. Smart Weighing- I can travel wisely and fully utilize the KG’s that I purchase🙈 I’ve always traumatize with over weight problem so I usually agak agak my weight to my comfort zone. And most of the time when I bought 25KG, I end up only using 23KG😒
2. Smart Lock - Are you someone that often forget your password? 🤣 If so this is perfect fit as you just need your phone to unlock, and the process is SUPER COOL! 😎
3. Smart Alert- At most of the time in the airport, you spend time waiting with your luggage. So this smart alert can help you to “monitor” your luggage just in case someone accidentally took your luggage (or in purpose) the alarm from your phone will notify you immediately👍🏻 4. HINOMOTO Wheels-(the best in rank) and a built-in luggage brake which totally tip the balance! Good for stopping your luggage while in the train/ speed rail or airport bus! In the past, I use my legs to stop my luggage moving around (anyone have the same experience too?)🤣 Now I can finally stop my luggage gracefully.👼🏻

This is our first time visiting Macau via the longest sea crossing and fixed link on earth - Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB 港珠澳大橋) and we had a disappointing experience 😫 Here is a summary of our 3 hours journey to Macau:
10:15 am - We took the Airport bus to HZMB - Hong Kong port. Not all airport buses stop at the HK port (Only Bus A18, A22, A21, A22, A29, A31, A33X and A36).
11:00 am - After you arrive at the HZMB - HK port, you will need to get the ticket for the HZM gold bus 金巴 to Macau. Just go to the self-service counter and pay by the octopus card (HKD$65). Staff are very helpful, so that is not exactly a “self-service” counter. If you pay by cash, you must need to visit the ticketing counter. We then go through the custom. It is right next to the ticketing counter. Very easy and smooth process (It took me less than 2 mins 😂!)
11:15 am - We then walked to the bus station to take the HZM bus. There was a long queue, but we just waited for 10 mins to get onto the bus. Some people keep jumping the queue, even after we told them not too ☹️ .
12:00 noon - Our bus journey was way too exciting - our bus driver was drowsy 💤
12:15 pm - After 45 mins of bus ride, we finally arrived at the HZMB - Macau Port. It took us 45 mins to get through the custom. You will need to walk up and down and up and down again in the Arrival Hall, which was quite tiring, especially for children and elderly.
1:00 pm - We then walked to the bus stop (around 3 mins), and took bus 101X to the Macau City centre (Avenue de Almeida Ribeiro 新馬路). Have HKD$6/MOP$6 ready! There are very limited seats on each bus (around 20) and the staff told us that the next bus will come in 20 minutes. (the next bus came right after our bus left 😂 - the buses actually came one after another). We stood on the bus for 20 mins with our back touching the back of each another. 😂 And Yeah! We finally arrived at the Macau city centre at 1:20 pm 🇲🇴

This is Day four of five days eating some of the best food ever in Hong Kong. http://www.kylele.net/2016/04/24/hong-kong-travel-day-4/
This day my friends and I opted for a day trip to the incredible Tai O Fishing Village. This was a refreshing way to get out of the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong to see how a different side lives.
To get there, take the cable car to Lang Tau Island, visit the Giant Buddha if you want, (I already did last year :https://youtu.be/g4HL3tZ99Cw)
Then hop onto a bus for Tai O and you're there within two hours from Central Hong Kong. There are various street food options around and people are friendly, especially with cameras.
For dinner we ate some family-style local specialties like cuttlefish and sweet and sour pork at Tai O Lin Heung Restaurant
G/F, 52 Kat Hing Street
