Happy birthday, Singapore!
If we could have three wishes for you, it would be to stay "clean and green always", to have "no bad guys" and to "let peace and harmony prevail".
It's the long weekend and today's our nation's birthday! I decided to bring the girls out and let the boy enjoy some bonding time with Papa. Yup, while we emphasize on the family sticking together, it's also important to carve out one-on-one, or one-on-two, time so as to let the kids enjoy more of our undivided attention.
The girls and I had a blast at the martinee of The Aladdin Musical today and I can only say it truly let us enter a whole new world - one that is incredible, unique and awe-inspiring. From the spectacular backdrops and dazzling costumes to the amazing vocals and fun choreography, it was such a treat for us on our rare mum-and-daughters date.
I was initially thinking the girls would greatly enjoy this and even though they did, what was unexpected was that I ended up loving the show even more than them. I was so wowed at the glittery, shimmery Cave of Wonders scene and when the magic carpet started to rise among the twinkly stars before our eyes, I couldn't help getting teary while feeling the magic and childhood memories gushing in.
The girls loved Princess Jasmine most and I couldn't decide if I loved the Genie or Aladdin more because they were both so awesome - engaging, hilarious and simply top-notch! No wonder everyone's been raving about the show, it's definitely not to be missed and I would advise you getting stall seats because that's where you can get a good view of all the breathtaking sets and special effects.
