Take a Step Down to Go Up!
“But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may tell you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.” (Luke 14:10 WEB)
While I was thinking about the winding staircase revelation that Pastor Prince shared, suddenly these words floated up in my spirit: “Go up higher.”
I searched for that verse and found this! This year when you humble yourself by placing others before you, God will remember you by promoting you to a higher place.
You’re ascending the winding staircase when you serve Jesus in humility. Even if it seems like your good works are not being noticed or acknowledged, remember that the Lord is your Rewarder and He sees all your labors of faith, hope and love.
In His address to all the seven churches of Asia Minor in the Book of Revelation, Jesus said that He knew their works and could even single them out by name.
““I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last works are more than the first.” (Revelation 2:19 WEB)
A believer walking in humility shows that he/she is growing to be more spiritually-mature.
When you go down in humility, you’re actually moving up and demonstrating that you’re ready to receive bigger blessings to steward for Jesus’ glory. Amen!
