📖好書推薦：你可以不怕死

近期讀完了一行禪師的這本「你可以不怕死」。他的文字總是這麼簡單卻深入，溫柔卻堅定。閱讀最神奇的地方在於，雖然作者的文本一樣，但每位讀者根據自己的人生經歷和觀點，所看到的東西和感受到的共鳴都不一樣。
這些是我特別有感觸的節錄：
「一整個宇宙都集合起來，為的是幫助這朵花顯形。這朵花裡擁有了一切，唯一少了的，就是一個分離的自我、分離的身份。」
「如果沒有意識地活著，那就好比是活死人，而這樣的存在不能稱為活著。我們之中有許多人就像活死人，因為我們是不帶意識地去活。」
「只有自由的人才是快樂的人。一個人有多快樂，取決於你心中有多自由。這並不是指政治上的自由，而是指免受遺憾、恐懼、焦慮和悲傷束縛的自由。『我已到了，已到家了，在此時，在此地；我不動，我自在；如實中，我安住了』」
「你人生中做了些什麼？這些事對你自己、你愛的人和所有的生命來說，是真正有益的嗎？要做一名菩薩的深深承諾，就是要解除痛苦，把成為覺醒的人當成自己的志業。」
在此想特別提一下，要解除痛苦，指的並不是身體上的、外在的痛苦那麼簡單，而是心靈上的痛苦和執念。以前的我發願要讓所有的動物自由，讓這個世界再也沒有牢籠，後來我體會到，真正的牢籠，其實在每個人的心中。這不影響我繼續努力讓動物自由，但同時我也知道，修持自己的心，才能從根本上得到真正的自由。

📖 Title: No Death, No Fear

One thing I love about Thay's writing is that it's simple yet deep, gentle yet strong. And what's amazing about reading is that everyone reads the same text but resonates and reflects in a different way based on his or her experiences and circumstances.
These are some of the quotes that touched me deeply during my reading:
"The whole cosmos has come together in order to help the flower manifest herself. The flower is full of everything except one thing: a separate self, a separate identity."
"If you live without awareness it is the same as being dead. You cannot call that kind of existence being alive. Many of us live like dead people because we live without awareness."
"Only a free person can be a happy person. The amount of happiness that you have depends on the amount of freedom that you have in your heart. Freedom here is not political freedom. Freedom here is freedom from regret, freedom from fear, from anxiety and sorrow. 'I have arrived, I am home, in the here, in the now.'"
"What have you done with your life? Has what you have done been of real benefit to yourself, your loved ones and all beings? The deep commitment of the bodhisattva is to relieve suffering. It is to make a career out of becoming an Awakened One, a Buddha."
Here I wanted to talk about suffering particularly, because I used to make it my life's work to empty all cages and set all animals free. Years later, I realized the real cages lie within each of us. It doesn't undermine my effort to keep helping animals, but at the same time I know that true freedom can only be obtained if I work on myself.
