Asalaamualaikum Qalbies! Did you know, that “Qalby”means ‘My Heart’ in Arabic and it is the main theme of our App; a super mobile application that provides trusted and updated content on Islamic education and lifestyle.

Our tagline is 'Ignite Your Heart with The Light of Iman' through the main sources of the Quran and Sunnah so that we can understand, reflect, act upon and share what we learn, nurturing our Iman together with the Qalby Community.

At the moment Qalby App is still in the Open Beta (testing) mode and the improved first version will be launched soon in early December. We strive to serve the ummah better, to motivate and inspire each other to live meaningful lives and to get closer to Allah S.W.T and His Deen In Shaa Allah.

The heart is the container of guidance which is from Allah S.W.T and the Quran.

When the heart is open and receives guidance, it becomes illuminated, revived and alive with the light of iman.
.
This is when you start to see a change in yourself, in your daily life where you begin to do more good deeds that are pleasing to Allah. This is when you start shining bright with Nur ala nur.

The fuel of this guidance is in studying, reciting, understanding and acting upon the Quran. So the more we feed the nutrients for our heart and soul, the more we will be able to be steadfast and a consistent source of goodness for everyone.

Here is a brief breakdown :-

-The niche (Mishkah) is the container of guidance and this represents the heart. A heart that has light from Allah SWT ( from the Quran) is one that is illuminated.

-Misbah is the lamp which obtains and gives light.

-Zujajah is glass which protects and spreads the light, our iman. Zujajah can also represent beneficial knowledge, good companionship and a good environment - which helps to protect our iman.

-Olive oil is like the Quran, guidance which is so pure and clear it does not need a match to light it up! It is already lit!

So let us plug into the source of guidance ; Allah and the Quran. The glow of iman is in every heart so let it shine bright!

Your heart can be as bright as the moon but it can also get gloomy and you can't escape it. One of the causes of these gloominess is forgetfulness. As a human being, it is hard to be constant in our worship to Allah - this is where forgetfulness strikes. However, this is only temporary. It comes and goes. The light is permanent, but the gloom is only temporary.

We need to strive hard to increase our Imaan whenever our Imaan is weak or interests decline, by staying upon the straight path and staying away from haraam. Pay attention to yourself and work to improve yourself during the gloomy period so it won't stay for long. Let's understand our heart better and pay attention to it.

"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things." (An-Nur:35)
