Happy United Nation Day!

Today marks the 75th anniversary of United Nation Day since it was established in 1945. United Nation is an intergovernmental non-partisan institution that works towards global peace and equality with its primary role to maintain world peace and security.

To commemorate this day, Malaysia has released a national statement at high level meeting of UNGA last 21st September 2020. In part of our statement, we have highlighted that COVID 19 is a virus that does not discriminate anybody and once a vaccine is found , we must make sure that it is accessible to all nations and people.

On this day, let us remember that to win this war against COVID 19 , we must stay united. Regardless of political parties, we need to take higher road and think beyond seatings in the election. Set aside our differences for a moment. With so many life at stakes, we must put rakyat's safety, peace and security as our top priority.

May God give us all strenght, courage and kindness to go through this turmoil time together. Let us work together to maintain the peace and security in our Malaysia.

The future might be uncertain, but there’s always light in the darkest places.

Today marks the beginning of tightened measures of #socialdistancing in Hong Kong: It is compulsory to wear a mask all indoor and public areas, it is illegal to have a gathering of more than 2 people, dine-in is completely prohibited in all restaurants. Not to mention the continued closure of gyms/yoga studios and many other businesses. And travelling overseas (which I used to do 3/4 times a month) seems to be nowhere to be seen. And oh yes, there’s political turmoil every day too in this city where I call home.

Some blame the government, some mope about the situation. It seems there’s no way out. But does it?

Yoga teaches us that nothing is permanent. In fact, impermanence is the only permanence in the universe. Good times doesn’t last forever, and neither does bad times. So hold on tight, because this darkness shall pass one day. And when one day when good times return, don’t be surprised that they too shall pass.
•
We came to the world with nothing and we will leave here one day with nothing. Don’t worry too much about what’s happening today. We will look back one day, 2020 was just a small blip in our lives.

殿堂級國際「通勝」《The Economist》曲得黎好Mean

《The Economist》點會漏咗評論兩會同國安法呢？不過作為國際版通勝，講晒「報導」國安法、無GDP、去到戰狼、香港去到台灣。Mean得黎曲，曲得黎有啲坦白，係需要大家自己參透。

//The move is unprecedented but not completely unexpected. //
（咁樣立法肯定係突破慣例，但又唔係估唔唔佢地會咁）

//The government normally uses a GDP target to broadcast its intentions for the economy...Were China to declare a high target for the second half, that might have been unrealistic given the global turmoil. In the end, it abandoned the target altogether, perhaps to be resumed next year.//
（從來政府都習慣用GDP目標去吹奏經濟發展，不過如果勉強定下半年嘅目標，加埋國際多事之秋，根本就不切實際。結果咁放棄吹奏囉，可能或者下年有返呢。）

結尾就勁喇：

China’s leaders are behaving as if they are in a position of strength. （依家國家經濟唔好嘅時候，最好就係包裝自己係國際抗疫英雄，而啲領袖就用做到自己好威武強勢咁。要做到好似前蘇聯列寧政治系統咁嚴謹，比平時更加shape醒！三千個代表戴住口罩，而啲政府領導就坐個整整齊齊，全部都無表情好嚴肅黑晒面咁。）

//Abroad, China’s diplomats have turned into “Wolf Warriors” in response to any criticism. And the country has appeared to use trade bans to punish the likes of Australia, which called for an independent inquiry into the origins of the coronavirus in China. The leadership also seems determined to bend Hong Kong to its will. Many Hong Kongers worry that the resolution to be adopted at this NPC will formally spell the end of their liberties, steadily eroded by China since it reclaimed control of the city in 1997. //
（對外方面呢，外交人員就已經變身「戰狼」，對抗任何批評，然後懲罰要調查疫情來源嘅澳洲。而領導們要堅定咁立志去扭曲香港嘅意志，所以好多Hong Kongers會覺得呢個決定，係等如詛咒香港嘅自由，好穩定咁侵蝕呢個地方嘅控制權。）

//And observers were chilled to note that in his ritualistic affirmation of the importance of “reunification” with Taiwan, Mr Li omitted the usual qualifier, “peaceful”. It is far from a threat of invasion, but rather a clear indication that, just as it is tightening the screws on Hong Kong, so it has no intention of easing pressure on Taiwan.//
（而國際明眼人反而對於長期行禮如儀嘅「統一」台灣嘅部份，不禁抽咗口涼氣。因為阿李生好明顯漏咗平時必有嘅「和平」（"Peace"）呢個字。即係由「和平統一」，變咗「統一」，如果聯想到「入侵」就會過份解讀（點解用invasion呢，明明係國家一部份喎？）。不過從對付香港嘅手段呢睇，佢地一定唔會停止繼續向台灣施壓囉。）
