According to the dictionary, arrogance means: offensive display of superiority or self-importance; overbearing pride. It is the characteristic that Allah SWT dislike the most. It is the feature of Iblees and his cohorts in this world, those on whose hearts Allah SWT has placed a seal. Whoever tries to be arrogant and put himself above others, Allah SWT will bring him down among the lowest of the low, and will humiliate him.

'Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father, from his grandfather from the Prophet (s.a.w) who said:
"The proud will be gathered on the Day of Judgement resembling tiny particles in the image of men. They will be covered with humiliation everywhere, they will be dragged into a prison in Hell called Bulas, submerged in the Fire of Fires, drinking the drippings of the people of the Fire, filled with derangement." (at-Tirmidhi)
