During this time, many people feel deflated. However, does this mean that you have to act deflated? Try to look at things from different perspectives. The extra time you felt you didn’t have before is now abundant. Time is valuable. What can you do with surplus of time? Are there interests and hobbies of yours of which you had trouble pursuing before? Are there health and wellness goals you can work toward now? Are there certain energy sapping foods-and even people-that you can reconsider? What about relationships with others? Can you place a little more focus on building bonds with friends, family, and other loved ones?
It’s all about the questions we ask ourselves; our internal dialogue, so to speak. Would you prefer to have a very low happiness threshold or a high one? Having a high happiness standard entails that it takes more for you become happy. Note that happiness does not equal satisfaction. You can be happy without being satisfied.
There’s beauty in engaging in a struggle. The struggle we face is not the enemy. Closing oneself off certainly is not the answer. Embrace the fear of the unknowables.
