This Stir Fry Tofu is a really yummy zichar style recipe. In Singapore, it's widely known as hotplate tofu 铁板豆腐 because it is stir fried separately and then served on a hot plate for the wonderful sizzling effect.

Urban legend has it that Hong Kong Swiss Wings were named this way because of mispronunciation. It was supposed to be Sweet Wings but because of poor pronunciation, people heard it as Swiss Wings and so Swiss Wings became the name of this dish in Hong Kong. This is a wonderful chicken recipe. I salute the chef from Tai Ping Koon (a Hong Kong restaurant) who invented this because this is so yummy. You can drench the wonderful gravy over instant noodles and voila - you have yourself a wonderfully tasty meal...yum yum.

Vietnamese food in Hue is simply delicious. There aren't many other cities with its own unique cuisine or dialect as much as Hue as far as I know. I've been to many places in Vietnam. When I arrived in Hue, I instantly wanted to find bun bo hue, but was a little bit lost with trying to make it on time for the Forbidden City or the Citadel. I was so hungry that I had to stop to eat and a random lady who was making bun bo hue for her family fixed me up a bowl right next to the Citadel. Beautiful late afternoon dinner with a gentle breeze. By the time I finished, the Citadel already closed. So I worked up an appetite out of anger that I had missed it again for the second time in a year. Next, I went to a familiar restaurant and ate some banh beo, banh nam, banh loc- all famous Hue starch based cakes and love love love. Then I still felt hungry and went across town to eat some banh canh ca loc- which is snakehead fish banh canh. Then I met up with Luong and his friends and ate some beef tendons off of the side of the road just like in the original Hue SoJournaling Vietnam videos, and and we said goodbye to them and went to a restaurant to eat some nem, which are grilled pork sausages, and some banh khoai or some wannabe stiff banh xeos that I have never tried before. Overall, it was a wonderful evening and night of eating. By the end I was ready to explode. Check back soon for a few more Hue videos.
This video was filmed in January.
